Wild Swimming & Hot Springs

wildswim3

There is really nothing that compares to wild swimming under a refreshing mountain waterfall on a hot summers day. If you would like to explore then we can give you tips and directions to some stunning places to swim. If you would prefer to take it easy and play in the sand then both the local towns have river beaches which are lively places to hang out. They have cafés and restaurants and are very popular with the locals. There is even a little plunge pool in our village where you can cool off.

Further afield about an hour away, just across the border in Spain there is are open air hot springs flowing into the river.

Here you can experience the healing powers of these thermal baths. There is a choice between two places. Baños has a restored Roman baths area next to the river Lima. The baths are free to use and you can lay and enjoy the majestic views of the mountains while soaking in the hot water. Alternatively there is Lobios which has a public open air bath and also a spa hotel which you can pay to enjoy.
